Vacuum Pump A diaphragm
pump, mostly used in conjunction with the fuel pump, is used on older
vehicles to boost the vacuum when the throttle is opened completely. |
Valance (Front) The
panel/s between the front bumper, fender and grill used to hide structural
members from view. |
Valance (Rear) The
panel/s between the rear bumper, fenders etc., used to hide structural
members from view. |

Valve Cover The metal
cover on top of each cylinder head, normally where the oil fill is
located. |

Voltage Regulator On
most newer cars, the voltage regulator is part of the alternator,
and controls the rate of battery charging. On some older cars the
voltage regulator is mounted on the firewall or inside a fender.
